Shape a growing space engineering team while staying hands‑on. We’re hiring a Team Leader – Satellite & Ground Systems to lead a small, multidisciplinary team that spans satellite and ground segment systems, mission analysis, requirements engineering, RF at system level, software architecture, and software Verification & Validation (V&V). You’ll be the technical interface with customers, translate needs into system‑level solutions, and help build the practices and culture of a ~20‑person company in scale‑up mode.

Abous Us:

We’re a growing space systems engineering company (~20 people) with the agility of a startup and the safety net of a larger group. We’re structuring into three technical teams and investing in software and software V&V as strong growth areas. If you value responsibility, initiative, and pragmatic engineering, you’ll feel at home here.

Job Overview:

You will lead ~5 engineers (with growth expected) and report directly to the CTO & Managing Director. The role blends technical leadership, people development, and customer‑facing responsibility. You’ll allocate weekly work, track project progress, approve/decline leave, coach your team, and actively contribute to selected projects—this is not an overhead‑only position. You’ll also help formalize and improve our engineering processes (requirements, software V&V, and team toolchains) as we scale.

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a small, multidisciplinary engineering team; plan weekly workload, oversee progress, and support growth and performance. (Covers people leadership, staffing, development.)
  • Serve as the main technical interface with customers, with weekly touchpoints to capture and challenge needs, run technical discussions/workshops, and align on solutions.
  • Translate customer needs into clear, traceable system‑level requirements and high‑level solution concepts and draft architectures.
  • Contribute hands‑on to selected projects (e.g., architecture, requirements, mission analysis, software V&V), ensuring quality and delivery.
  • Establish / improve practices and toolchains for requirements management, software V&V, and team workflows; champion continuous improvement. (Process responsibility and tool/process introduction are core expectations for our TLs.)
  • Support proposals and reviews; help prepare and attend technical meetings, milestones, and audits with customers and partners.

Profile We’re Looking For

  • Must‑have qualifications

    • Experience: 1+ year in a similar leadership role or 5+ years in the space domain (industry or research) with responsibility for a project or workstream.
    • Technical depth (space systems):
      • Space Systems engineering: requirements engineering, mission analysis,
      • understanding, basic satellite telecommunication, software architecture fundamentals;
      • software V&V is a plus and expected to grow.
    • Standards: Familiarity with ECSS.
    • Leadership & communication: Able to lead small teams, mentor engineers, challenge and refine requirements, and communicate clearly with customers and partners (concise written/spoken English).
    • Education: MSc in Aerospace, Electrical/Electronics, Computer Science, Physics, or equivalent.

    Nice‑to‑have qualifications:

  • ESA/EC project experience; ECSS lifecycle practice; MBSE (SysML/Cameo/Capella); Python/automation/CI/CD for V&V; SDR/RF chain exposure; experience in startups/scale‑ups; languages: Greek (plus), German/French.

What We Offer

  • Impact & ownership: A high‑responsibility role with visible impact on projects and company growth—help shape the team and our ways of working during a pivotal scale‑up phase.
  • Balanced scope: Real leadership responsibilities and meaningful hands‑on engineering.
  • Environment: Collaborative, high‑trust culture that values initiative, asking questions early, and taking calculated risks.
  • Benefits: Private health insurance, flexible hours, remote work on a case‑by‑case basis, training/certification budget, business travel opportunities, and benefit vouchers.
  • Compensation: Competitive Greek salary based on experience
  • Locations: Athens or Heraklion (Crete); hybrid options considered case‑by‑case.
  • Start date: Mid‑2026 (earlier onboarding discussions welcome).
