OHB Hellas is currently in search of a skilled Business Development Expert to join our Business Development department. This role combines strategic growth-seeking with hands-on proposal leadership, working at the interface between OHB Hellas, ESA, the European Commission, and the broader OHB Group.

Job Overview:

The Business Development Expert will report to the Business Development Manager and play a critical role in identifying and securing new growth opportunities for the company. This position requires a versatile individual who can actively scout the market, lead and write competitive proposals, and act as bid manager for submissions to ESA and EU programmes.

Main Responsibilities

  • Actively identify and pursue new business and growth opportunities for OHB Hellas.
  • Lead and write proposals in response to calls for tenders, ensuring technical, managerial, and compliance quality.
  • Act as Bid Manager for proposals submitted to ESA and the European Union (e.g. Horizon Europe), coordinating inputs across teams and partners.
  • Build and maintain relationships with ESA, government bodies, the European Commission, and industrial partners.
  • Liaise internally with the OHB Group to align business development strategy and share opportunities across the group.
  • Monitor space and defence sector programmes, calls, and funding opportunities relevant to the company’s strategy.
  • Support the preparation of management and technical documentation for proposal submissions and project reviews.
  • Contribute to positioning and strategy discussions within the BD department.

Profile We’re Looking For

  • At least a Master’s degree in Business Administration, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a relevant Business Development, proposal management, or bid management role.
  • Experience in the space and defence sector.
  • Proven experience leading and writing proposals, ideally for ESA and/or EU programmes.
  • Strong understanding of ESA, European Commission, and government procurement processes.
  • Excellent proposal writing, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • English (proficient level, required) and German (good-to-have).
  • Willingness to take on challenges, show resiliency, and continuously develop new skills.
  • Military service obligations fulfilled (for male Greek citizens).
